Lonnie S. Yancsurak, Ed.D. | Founder
With 24 years of experience with traditional, charter, and private schools, Lonnie has seen it all. His experience is broad, from teaching physics and math at both small private and large public schools, to opening and running schools in several states across the country. Currently, Lonnie works on school development; writing charter petitions and designing and executing large scale marketing initiatives.
Lonnie’s marketing and recruiting strategies have resulted in well over $100 million in increased revenue to schools.
Mae Van Vooren | Advisor
Mae brings over 20 years of diverse experience to Schoolhike. She has worked in a wide range of operational, instructional, and developmental positions in the K-12 world. Some of her key positions include:
-Assistant Superintendent, Chief Information Officer, Founding Director and developer of school programs
-Director of Business Development with Educational Consulting firms (contracted by Apple Mexico, Innovations and several other businesses).
-Educational Consultant / Trainer with Pearson, Scott Foreman, Silver Burdett and Addison Wesley Educational Publishing Companies.
-Adjunct Instructor at San Diego City College in the Special Services Department
-Special Education Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, autistic, aphasic and other communication delayed students for the Los Angeles and San Diego Unified School districts.
Mae received her Bachelors Degree in Communications Disorders with a minor in Psychology from San Diego State University and her Master of Arts in Special Education from Cal State Northridge. Mae enjoys family road trips, technology, family, fellowship, food (crab!) and plenty of laughter
